We were first introduced to the folks and facilities of the Egle House during a recent tour and our reaction can be summed up as Wow! Located in Lonaconing, the newly constructed Egle House was developed by the same caring professionals that have owned and operated Egle Nursing & Rehab Center for the past 30 years. Sitting adjacent to the nursing facility but in a separate building; The Egle House offers 16 private suites for its residents. Each suite provides a private bathroom with individual showers.
The Egle House seeks to fill a much-needed void in memory care services to the residents of the tri state area. Their focus is on providing the highest quality memory care services to those members of our community who have memory loss or cognitive decline. Assisted Living Manager, Gayle Durst, has extensive training in managing memory care services and each of the staff members are training in providing such. Gayle is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). She is also a Certified Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT), as well as a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP).
Featuring private and functional suites, each with a private bathroom with individual showers. See photos on their Facebook page
The Egle House has a primary focus on providing residents with a comfortable, safe, environment, that allows each resident to maintain as much individual autonomy as possible. The entire facility is key code protected to prevent residents from unintentional elopement while maintaining the safest environment possible.
Amenities include salon services, onsite rehabilitation services, resident activities, van transportation, and restaurant style meals. They also have an enclosed outdoor courtyard that is available for their residents to enjoy outdoor spaces that provide the sights and sounds of nature while being secure. The Egle House has a spacious dining room, common areas, and an activity room. The Egle House Staff is specifically trained to care for their residents with memory loss and cognitive impairment. Services are available to residents with mild cognitive impairment and to those residents with advanced cognitive impairment or advanced Alzheimer's Disease.
Visit their website or better yet, call Gayle at 301-463-8928 for a tour. You will not be disappointed.
